So this weekend the Colorado Z club had a track day, it was my second time on the track. Everything felt good, I was all proud of my self keeping up with everybody. Then on the first straight I start braking for the turn and I can't get it out of gear. I pump the clutch and not much happens, I gotta get going before some one comes around the corner and finds my ass sitting on their bumper. I try some more, but this time the clutch pedal has no resistance, it pretty much fell to the floor on its own. I'm thinking oh sh*t! I was close to the pits so I managed to pull off the track right away at the cost of my brakes. They smoked for several minutes after I pulled in; I guess its time for big brakes. Any how I am all pissed off wondering what happened to my clutch, after the car cools a bit I try bleeding the clutch. I find out that hot brake fluid from a clutch leaves a nice tingly sensation on your face when you don't have a bleeder bottle. After this the pelad felt much better, but when I went to start the car it made a horrible noise. Me and Woody75 were looking at each other like what F*&^ was that. I tried to put it in gear and it made a grinding noise, and when I let out the clutch it didn't want to move a whole lot. At this point I am really pissed, how am I supposed to get my car home. Luckily a buddy brought his car on a trailer, so we put my car up on his trailer. It turns out I don't pay attention to hand signals very well when I'm upset. I'm really sorry about your foot Eric! This leads me to the carnage.

Here you can see how the disc seperated
Its hard to see in this pic, but there are little circles on my flywheel from the rivets on the disc
Here again I'm not a professional photographer, but you can see a groove on the back of the disc where the rivets from the other half were eating the disc up
It kind of surprised me when this happened, the clutch is brand new with a rebuilt motor. I took it pretty easy on the break of both, and I only had a little over 1300 miles on the new motor and clutch. I know Greg D says to get them adjusted right or you may have problems, so I made sure it was adjusted right. I can't imagine I have enough power to seperate a disc, I think it was just a mechanical failure.
